Dan Kiley was an American Landscape Architect who used modern architecture as a focal point of his designs.
I was unable to select just one of his projects because I felt so inspired and connected to his work. This is the first time I have felt such passion towards a Landscape architects work and I have found some of my own sketches resemble parts of his style. His work is inspiring, it is delicate yet bold as it takes hold of your attention meanwhile paying homage to the context it sits in. It is respectful to the surrounding area while also bringing in a fresh a perspective on that same landscape through his use of gentle geometrical shapes. One aspect I have found is that I did not understand his work until I read the name of the place and location, his work needs context. But I praise this as it means his designs really understand the landscape and surrounding area.
