photoshop- learning how to cut out trees

Today I learned how to cut out trees very neatly using photoshop as this is something I struggled with in first year. Initially I used the magnetic lasso tool which took forever and also came out looking a bit botched. However now I have found a new technique, the only downside is that the image inputted to photoshop has to be a green tree with a blueish background however this is an issue that can be resolved on another day. :)

I then wanted to make it seem abstract so I layered is over a galaxy image and cut out a little boy from another image and layered them together to create this! It took me around 45minutes to complete and is very simple but I am happy with the results because it is progress!!

Continuous line drawing with left hand

Landscape perception

what if we symbolized trees differently?

what if our understanding of contours could be expressed differently?

I believe it is often important not to fall into the trap of following commonality, such as universal standards set out by the discipline, but to perceive landscapes from your own view and express them how you wish.

I believe the way I perceive landscapes is with a lot of emotion and expression which can be seen in my drawing.

Reflection

Here I was playing around with charcoal just doodling when I looked back at the drawing a few weeks later I went over it again in charcoal and ink to create a reflection of two faces. I think it is important to often reflect back on work and never to over do a drawing or piece. Sometimes if you feel you have drawn out all that was on your mind you should not add to it just because you feel you have to. Instead, leave it and come back to it at a later date which can add value to your piece.

On reflection I struggled with this part of the assignment as I could not visualise how the materials would look together across the site. D...
